People Arriving

As I walked to the dorm tonight I can see where kids on the third floor have drawn pictures everywhere.  I am on the fifth floor living with students, teachers, and some families as well.
MMMMMMMM Noodles.

One of the great chefs of the WVU-JCI cafeteria.
Brad, and mike in a room that has just been cleared for some demonstrators that will be arriving soon.  In here will be Yixing, and sculpture demos.
Some birdhouses I finally decorated today.

Everything is squared away today for this big week of NCECA.  Bob and Li Chao really have their hands full right now with all that is going on.  A number of coordinators, students, potters, and helpers arrived today by train.  It was really great to meet and converse with some new people.  It is also a good thing to hear what others have to say about my work (good or bad).  Tomorrow will be another day of cleaning and getting ready for Monday when all of the demo's and activities begin as we start shared journeys, a collaboration of chinese and North American art.  There is much to learn and listen to so I better keep the note paper handy.  Meeting and making relationships is a huge part of being a potter as well as being a student.  It is one of the aspects I enjoy most.

I am so envious of you today. I wish I was there with you. This experience will be a once in a lifetime. I hope you will send some video - get the names of some of the really good North American potters. I love you and enjoyed talking to you this morning. Mom:)

Brad, have you met a woman named Beth Lo? Elizabeth Lo. She's an Asian American potter from the University of Montana. She's there. Just wondered if you'd crossed paths. (I know that there are tons of folks there so maybe not)
